Do you still have unforgiveness issues?

Have you forgiven all that have offended you?

Have you asked forgiveness to those you have offended/hurt?

Have you tried forgiving someone even if she hasn’t asked for it?

Which is easier for you, to forgive or to ask for forgiveness?

Saying sorry is sometimes very challenging for me. I have difficulty saying it, especially saying it without giving reasons and justifications first. I always regard saying sorry as admitting that she is right and that I am wrong. But saying sorry actually means you are ACKNOWLEDGING that YOU have hurt the other person. So when you say sorry, you are actually VALIDATING their feelings. What you are trying to communicate to them is that you acknowledge that YOU HAVE HURT their feelings. And you are sorry for that.

I’ve learned this recently through a friend who was trying to tell me that not being able to say sorry means not admitting you’re at fault, in short, being prideful.

Do we really need to raise the white flag? Will it hurt us to do it?

Definitely, YES. Apologizing is very important in any relationship (friends, co-workers, churchmates, family and even to Him). And knowing when to raise the white flag and admit your fault is not a defeat but rather an opportunity to grow and live in peace. We’ve asked God so many times for the virtue of humility. But most of the time we fail to recognize that saying sorry is an opportunity for us to increase in that virtue.

Forgiveness is not like an unrequited love that has only one side. There are two parts in forgiving.

One- the part of the offender (to ask for forgiveness)

Two- the part of the offended (to release his/her forgiveness)

And these two parts are actually the same in the eyes of God. If you can’t ask forgiveness, or if you can’t release forgiveness, both are sins. They are still bitterness and unforgiveness.

I had a recent situation with my sister and it took me awhile to realize I had offended her and so I sent her a message saying my apologies to her. And I am still waiting for her reply. And by the way, it is VERY IMPORTANT that when you say sorry you DO NOT say your excuse first. Just say you are sorry that you have hurt his/her feelings and then stop and let that person digest what you said. After a while THEN you can tell him/her why you said or did what you did.

In this scenario, I have done the first part, but the second part of forgiveness which is supposed to be coming from my sister has not happened yet. God will deal with her, it’s between her and God this time (but of course God will expect higher return from Christians rather than from non-believers).

What if the offended person releases forgiveness right away even if the offender did not ask for it?

“MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO LIVE IN PEACE with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” Hebrews 12:14,15 NIV

“Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.” Hebrews 12:15NLT

“Get rid of all the bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4: 31-32

I offended my sister but did not admit that I was in the wrong RIGHT AWAY. Did not ask forgiveness for a long time and it caused her to be bitter towards me. She got more angry and unforgiving towards me. See?? Had I asked for forgiveness right away she would have forgiven me and bitterness would not have had a chance to take root, right?

In this scenario it will be advantageous for the offended person since she will enjoy the blessing of not having any grudge or root of bitterness in his/her heart.

“Forgiveness is not a state of emotion or a feeling. It is a decision, a choice that you have to make.” – Joel Osteen (in his book Your Best Life Now)

Why? What’s the proof?

Look at those people who are old and are in their death beds but are still holding a grudge against other people. If it is indeed true that time heals, then they should have healed already since they are already old, for sure time has passed, but WHY HAVEN’T THEY? That is because they have NOT CHOSEN to forgive. Yes, time helps but time does not heal.

“Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?” Matthew 18:33

“Brothers, Listen We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus, there is forgiveness for your sins.” Acts 13:38 NLT

It is true that it can be hard for others to release forgiveness to their offenders. Yet God reminded us that even if we are not worthy to be forgiven and saved, He still did forgive and save us. Our sins, though MANY and GREAT, may be forgiven and that will not cause any injury to God’s honour. The same with us; forgiving or asking for forgiveness will not cause us dishonour. In fact, contrary to the standards of the world, asking for forgiveness will give us high esteem in the eyes of God because we were able to swallow our pride and admit our mistake. That is CHARACTER!

The secret to finding true happiness

Today, I had a chance to share alot of things to my students and this was the very first thing I shared with them this morning;

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

And I am in so much awe of God’s amazing power. He is moving in my life. He is certainly using my talents and skills to be able to advance me and other people to His Kingdom. I have never been this bold in sharing God’s words and telling people His Great Love but I can’t help it. My mouth, my mind. They are moving 1 million miles per hour.

I love this poem. I love its meaning and how easy it is to understand.I love its symbolisms. I had shared so many experiences to my dear students and I am so happy to see that after 8 long hours of lessons no one ever showed signs of sleepiness. Thank you Dear God for opening up their hearts. Thank you for your overwhelming and abounding love to these young adults. May you continue to shine in their lives.

And here are my students performing DESIDERATA in SPEECH CHOIR.

And of course their beautiful teacher. (I did not teach my students over confidence, Ok?)

Victorious weekend

Dear everyone,

I got baptized. Today marks the death of the old me. The old is gone, the new has come. April 6, 2013. The best weekend of my life. I am happy to post these pictures here, I am happy to make this public declaration that today I am a new creation.

I want to say Thank You to Rosario Benitez, the person who led me to one2one. Thank you for your overflowing patience and persistence to continue despite all the hindrances and excuses, In God, truly nothing is impossible. Continue to be passionate about sharing God’s word to the people around you, continue to let your light shine, so people would see Jesus in you. You did a great job in taming a person like me. Great job God. You are indeed powerful.

To my VGMates; Mira Joy, Matet, Glen, Vanessa, Faith, Daisy Jean, Franz, including Nessie. Thank you for sharing your wonderful lives with me. Your lives have become my inspiration to enjoy my walk with Jesus. Thank you for this Godly friendship. God chose each and everyone of us to be part of this one beautiful group, and this is something we all have to cherish and relish. Thank you beautiful women of God.

Thank you Holy Spirit for revealing Your residence in me. I am still in awe. I am still surprised. I am still amazed. I am completely raving for words. I have never thought I could propel this way. Your power is unfathomable, indescribable, inexplicable. I just want to thank you even more, that you will continue to guide me, that you will continue to nourish me, as I continue to crave for You.

Today, I am a new creation. Lord, thank you that my past has been deleted, my past has been freed, my past has been removed in Your Database Father God, that I am no longer a slave of sins. Your love is everything and You have healed my past Father God. Thank you for your abounding love, abounding grace, your abounding forgiveness Father God. Today I am a new ME.

Victory Weekend is a quarterly event of Victory Christian Fellowship. This is done to people who have undergone one2one and those who want to experience Jesus, those who want to deepen their relationship with Jesus. It is a 2 day training with lots of interesting topics. In the second day, Baptism of water usually takes place. And I am proud to say, I have experienced all these, and I am now ready to be equipped.

Yours truly,

Tough love

March 27, 2014

Dear Destin Gaia,

Today I shouted at you, I spanked your lovely butt again and again. My horns were up, because you almost undo all the works that I did for four agonizing hours. You said ouch! And you cried and suddenly I stopped hitting you because realization also hit me, tough love. Oh this is tough love my dear. You did something not good, so you deserve some beating. I felt sorry, because truth is I did not want to hurt you whatsoever. I am not a Mummy, I am a Mommy. You are loved. Matter of factly, I am doing this because I love you and I will always love you.

I will continue to write a love letter to you, to remind you that I have such a wonderful time with you. Oh the perils and joys you gave me. They are priceless. They are countless.

This is you and me. You are such a beautiful, smart baby. It is my duty to give you a life full of smiles. You will grow God-fearing.You will grow with respect and honor to your elder. You will love all the people around you, like I do. You will grow to be a strong woman any mothers wish their children to be.

I love you, and I hope you will forgive me for spanking you. I know I fall short sometimes, but I will strive to become a Mommy and not a Mummy.

Yours Truly,

Magic your Mommy

A Letter to you from me

I never received a letter from my Mom and she ended up lying six feet below the ground. I love letters. I love receiving letters. So I will take this opportunity to write a letter to my 3 year old while I still can. Hoping that one day you will be able to read this.

Dear Daughter,

Your name is Destin Gaia. Destin is a french word for Destiny. French has gender when it comes to words Destin is a masculine yet I still chose it. Not because I want you to be a tomboy but I want you to be the strongest possible you. Gaia means Earth in Greek. I have always wanted to name my first born as Earth but you will then become a subject of ridicule, so I looked for a different one. There you are, Destin Gaia. You are destined to be on earth. And you shall be destined to be in heaven. It was love at first sight that I felt for you. A love of a mother that shall be forever true. I hate the way you cry because you cry in the highest pitch you could ever reach. You can disturb our entire neighborhood. And I have a feeling they hated me for not being able to stop you from crying.I could only care less. Your cries gave me a guarantee that your lungs were in perfect condition. And yes, you were such a healthy baby, that I didn’t have so much worry.

Your first nanny was your Great Grandma, then another one came, then another came, then another came, then another came. And then finally the sixth and the final one with extra patience in her. You were an independent baby. Even a baby can be independent.

And now you are three, you are still young and free. I will give you freedom not boredom.

You loved Disney’s Frozen. You always bugged me everyday saying you want to sing DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN? You like to sing LET IT GO. I am not sure but I am guessing you have a heart for music. Because you hit the notes, other kids don’t.

You like to eat apples.

You like to eat at Jolibee.

You like motor rides.

You like TIGER biscuit

You like make up

You like to dress up

And surprisingly you like to shop.

You are my respite, most of all the source of happiness.

I promise to write a letter whenever I feel like writing and whenever I have words to convey.

Yours truly,

Your Mother

What is God doing in your life right now?

Is He moving in your life? Do you feel His
love every waking day of your life?

So here I am at the airport waiting for my
flight back to Davao City. We checked out early
from the hotel but our flight will be in six hours
from now. Waiting. Idle. I decided to
rummage on my laptop for movies I haven’t watched.
My friend Rose gave me movies and told me
to watch it but because of my hectic and toxic
schedule, I haven’t opened it. Or was it because
my being a Christian is a mediocre. She gave
me Darren Wilson’s movies entitled Finger of God,
Furious Love, and Father of Lights. Finger of
God was documented way back 2007, I was probably
still out there in the world of lost, out
there in the world full of lies. She told me so
many times already to watch it, but these movies
stayed dormant in my laptop for days now.

But today, today is the day that I should know
all these things about God,hope,power,glory,Gospel,
miracle,love,love, love above all.

Here are some few things I noted down
-Act on what you believe
-Messiah means hope of glory
-God is moving in power today
-Be willing to learn
-If we are in Christ. All of us have the Holy Spirit.
We have the same resource. All of us have God communing
with us.
-God is the most exciting, captivating being in the
-If you are not at peace for God, you are not
gonna be at peace of the powerful miracles next to
-When we believe God, we should be poor in
spirit, Be child like so we will depend on our
Father and not depend our own strength.
-Stop and Love.
-When you love somebody, you will like what they do
-Love is the greatest power in the universe.
-God is calling all of us to a life of power, but
that power can only come when we humble ourselves
and set aside fears and unbeliefs.
-The biggest miracle is learning how to love.
-God is real. God is relevant.
-Be in love with God, Love everyone!

Miracles do happen. And the purpose of miracles is
to meet the God of miracles.Lord, I have set my
heart ready for You,everyday of my life. Lord that I
pray and cry out to you not because I need
miracles to happen, not because I want something done.
I pray because without praying, breathing would be
impossible too.

What is God doing in my life right now?

Am I living a holy life so I would become holy like Him?
This world is full of temptations, full of lies. I
stumble over and over again. The first point says,
Act on what you believe. Act not just say it. Lord,
I trust you that you will heal all areas of my life.
That I will be able to surrender all areas of my life
be it financial,emotional,physical,mental,moral,spiritual.
Like a child I will depend on you, Father.

For years, I have been praying that my father here
on earth will come to serve You, will feel your love
Father, make me that instrument. Lord, I thank you
for the love that you gave me and I will use Your Love
to serve and love others.

Tell me what’s your story?
